“ | You're not meant to know the effects of the investments, or to have a firm grasp of your financial future. I understand the desire for it, but that's what wikis and guides are for. | ” |
— Sierra Lee[1]
|
This page presents a compilation of all investments offered in the game, both those that can be funded by ProN, and Discretionary funds, and that one investment that is paid in Sx.
In addition to monetary profits and other effects, most investments also affect your relationship with your companions. Speaking with them will give you some hints.
Investment options become available after you arrive in Ari-Yhilina and foil the coup against the Widow Queen. The initial amount of ProN available to make investments depends on the amount of ProN you've given to Megail in Stineford. The minimum value is 50,000 and the maximum is 120,000[2]. Megail also offers you a ledger to keep track of your investments.
Sierra Lee has stated that you can make similar investments (for instance contracting two mercenary companies) to get better results, but it will be with diminishing returns.
You can spend your ProN in other avenues that don't appear as such in the Ledger[3]. They won't give profits in the form of ProN, but there will be other advantages to investing in them (most of them won't be shown in the game as such, but in the form of hidden advantages).
During Round 4: Discretionary funding and Round 6: Chapter 4 & 5 Investment smorgasbord you will receive funding several times during the round, these "sub-rounds" are referred to as "cycles" after this point.
Switches that look like this are named after the in code switches, some walkthrough pages will use them others won't. If there is only a single switch in both "Conditions" and "Advantages" sides it is likely the switch is used to indicate the switch for the investment itself. If there is more than one switch in either column, the other switches will have a foot note on how to set them ON.
So far, you get ProN returns from Megail at these points:
- At the start of chapter 2, although only 2 investments do so. They are marked in bold
- During the party split, Megail collects returns from some first-round investments in Ari-Yhilina. They are marked with this color.
- Near the end of chapter 2, when Simon returns from the Orgasmic Empire. They are marked with this color.
- During chapter 3, If Simon has the 2nd House of Petitions built, some of their personal assets will be turned into ProN before being shifted to the personal DF. These ProN returns are marked with this color
- At the end of chapter 3, after you have attended to the petitioners and pay your respects to the Fallen. They are marked with this color.
- In chapter 4 and 5, when you meet Megail in Stineford, and after major plot sequences. They are marked with This color
Pricing and other stuff associated with certain rounds are marked with that round's color (Note: To combat issues for the color blind pricing and Return on investment prices get an "RX:" in front of their numbers)
- Bold for round 1
- This color for round 2
- This color for round 3
- This color for Core Discretionary Funding
- This color for Personal Discretionary Funding
- This color for round 5
- This color for round 6
- This color for the round 6 Erosian war bonus Cycle
The following symbols are also used to provide information on investments
- N First time this investment is available
- ◀ This investment is only available during this round
- ◁ This investment is only available for about a cycle or less
- ◁(1) This investment is only offered once before becoming unavailable
- ▲ This investment has a (generally stronger version) available in (a) previous round(s)

Round 0: Initial ProN gathering prior to investments
After convincing Simon to use his powers to better the world, one of the first things he needs is money and lots of it. During the first half of chapter 1 you will have to gather enough ProN to start these endeavors. Starting by killing the local bar owner, and then selling his stolen property to a merchant.
Whilst at the same time trying to find a trading partner. Once found your merchant partner agrees to give you a chance, she informs Simon she requires at least a starting capital of 50,000 ProN (Up to 65,000 ProN can be obtained) and something truly rare. This round ends once the gathered Pron is given to Megail.
Initial ProN gathering[edit | edit source]
- 20,000 ProN from selling your booze to the merchant. (Mandatory event)
- 5,000 ProN from helping Robin with school problems. (Mandatory event)
- 20,000 ProN from clearing the Stineford mine. (Mandatory event)
- 5,000 ProN from helping Robin get her Potion's License.
- 2,500 ProN from helping Carina deal with some slavers.
- 2,500 ProN from exploring the succubus tower.
- 5,000 ProN from helping Orcent find a lover.
- 5,000 ProN from whoring Qum.[4]
ProN to Sx[edit | edit source]
If you manage to get More than 50,000 ProN you will be able to make the choice of turning some of your excess ProN into Sx. This can be done by talking to the Stineford clerk who will offer you a 1:1 rate (which is the second-highest over the course of the entire game). Although doing this can greatly affect your future ProN returns.
Choice | Condition | Cost | "Advantages" |
---|---|---|---|
Redeem 2,500 ProN | ProN ≥ 52,500 | 2,500 |
Gain 2,500 Sx |
Redeem 5,000 ProN | ProN ≥ 55,000 | 5,000 |
Gain 5,000 Sx |
Redeem 10,000 ProN | ProN ≥ 60,000 | 10,000 |
Gain 10,000 Sx |
Round 1: Up to the party split
Here is where your investing journey truly begins, talking to Megail after foiling the coup will have her return the ProN you gave her three fold, before advising Simon to invest in an Arms Dealer for 100,000 ProN. Leaving you the player with between 50,000 and 95,000[5] to spend. And an option to increase your ProN by an additional 25,000 (for a maximum of 120,000) at a cost, after you save Megail.
Megail's options[edit | edit source]
After rescuing Megail, talk to her twice; the first talk will just be information, the second will be an investment option (see "Gift to Megail", below). When you talk to her after that, you will get access to two additional single-use options for your ProN.
Acquire Money[edit | edit source]
This action sets Megail Take ON, gives 25,000 ProN and 10,000 Sx that helps you now but you will have less available money later;
- R2: -50,000 at the start of Megail's Route
- R3: -100,000 when you receive the profits at the start of round three
Giving this option a fair number of advantages and disadvantages.
Convert ProN to Sx[edit | edit source]
This once again dubious option can now be done to convert 10,000 of your ProN to Sx at a 1:2.5 rate (the highest it will ever be, resulting in a total of 25,000 Sx), and several RP Gains.
It can only be done once this round.
Actual investments[edit | edit source]
Ari-Yhilina[edit | edit source]
Here is where the majority of your investments are during this round. Although you may want to hold off on spending the ProN you just received, until you have completed the Merchant Trouble Quest, since it allows access to 2 new investments, and cheapens the cost of another. You should spend the majority of your ProN, possibly holding some back for the Stineford Magic shop, before starting chapter 2, as some investments become disabled and others have reduced gains.

Round 2: Megail's Route
During Megail's route, she will travel to Eustrin to gather some Investments to help with the plan. A few of them are also available after Simon's return. Some prices in this section are variable and depend on the investment choices that you made in the first round. Before any penalties or anything is withheld you start with a gain of 200,000 ProN.
ProN penalty[edit | edit source]
If you used Acquire Money during Round 1 (Megail Take ON) there will be 50,000 ProN less available.
Withheld ProN[edit | edit source]
Due to the fact that you will go to war soon, you will need a Processor, Supplier, and a Manufacturer on your payroll. If any are missing Megail will hold back the required ProN to buy one in Eustrin, losing you flexibility in other Investments.
- 25,000 ProN if you did not Invest in Premium Steel (Premium Steel OFF)

- 50,000 ProN if you did not Invest in Yhilini Mine Processing (Mine Processing OFF)
Non-investments (bribes, items, and kickbacks)[edit | edit source]
After having seen the Eustrin blockade you encounter your first Item for ProN. Instead of gathering 7,500 Sx worth of bounties for the technically legal Eustrin Papers, you can just spent 10,000 Pron to get the forged Eustrin Papers (there are no consequences other than the ProN loss for buying the forged papers).

Round 3: After the reunion, Ari-Yhilina and Ardford
During the business meeting, Megail gives you a resume of your investments (and the ProN of course). You also get 300,000 (or just 200,000 if you took money from Megail in chapter 1), plus any reward from the mine quest in Aka's route. Megail will also take 250,000 ProN to help equip the orc army.
Additional ProN gain[edit | edit source]
During the course of the chapter, you will be able to gain some Additional ProN from sources other than investments
Megail's personal money[edit | edit source]
Given when talking to her after the initial reunion, with the return varying between if you chose to use Acquire Money or not
- 300,000 if you chose NOT to use Acquire Money during Round 1 (Megail Take OFF)
- 200,000 if you chose to use Acquire Money during Round 1 (Megail Take ON)
Kickbacks[edit | edit source]
Mine kickback can be given with the returns depending on the choice made during Aka's Route:

During the Ardford summit, talk to the Merchant Guild Representative until he asks for your help. If you can make the "Advanced Alliance" vote fail without the help of the merchant guild, you will receive an additional 100,000 ProN
Bribes[edit | edit source]
During the Ardford summit you will be given 2 chances to bribe the Merchant Guild Representative to change their vote. Both bribes come at the cost of some Megail RP. However, the long-term effects of these bribes - should they change the outcome of a particular vote - may be worth the drawbacks.
Note: Each opportunity to bribe the Merchant Guild Representative will only be offered once, and, therefore, needs to be paid immediately.

During the Ardford summit you can go to the Ardford bank and once again make use of the dubious ability to change ProN to Sx for a single time. This time though you choose the amount of Sx you want to gain, instead of the amount of ProN to redeem. Although the fees of 33.33% and 16.66% are basically some of the worst in the entire game.

Round 4: Governing Yhilin and Discretionary funding
After conquering Yhilin, you have to actually run the country. Thankfully, you've been spared from dealing with the details of the budget, but you have some amount of money that you can spend on projects of your choice. Unlike your usual investments, the costs are not denominated in ProN: instead, you allocate the necessary percentage of the available money to a task. Information about your remaining funds and general advice is provided by the helpful maid right inside the door of the House of Petitions.
Funding cycles and budget[edit | edit source]
Funding is a multi-stage process - you are able to assign funds while you are in Yhilin and then see the results when you return from missions outside. You get 100% funds at the start of each cycle in addition to the funds left over from the previous cycle. For example, if you have 20% remaining at the end of a cycle, you'll start the next one with 120%. As you progress in the development of Yhilin during chapter 3, you get a total of 450% to spend.
Prior to the Third Arclent War, there are five cycles of funding:
- After the invasion of Yhilin (while the Govern Yhilin quest is active).
- After you return from the Elven kingdoms (Govern Yhilin II).
- After you return from Zirantia (Govern Yhilin III, this and the next one).
- After you are done with the previous cycle (you only get 50% funds at the start).
- After you return from Eustrin (you can only do this cycle at the start of the section, and effects are immediate upon leaving the house of petitions even if they normally wouldn't be).
General Discretionary Funds
Point improvement and War cleanup investments[edit | edit source]
These investments are available from the start and are focused on improving (whether by decreasing or increasing) the chaos, collateral damage, and victory point scores that were earned during the invasion of Yhilin. In addition to repairing areas that were badly damaged during the fighting, and therefore restoring access to them.
Note Prime Something flags are set before Place X flags (and Economic Chaos) are turned off, meaning an additional round is needed before they can be set. For example: if Repair Merchant Quarter (sets Merchant Quarter X OFF is done during Govern Yhilin I, then Prime SuccBrothel will be set to on during Govern Yhilin III

Personal Discretionary Funds
Upon first entering the Second House of Petitions, Megail for socio-politics decides it is for the best to use your own money to fund the Slum petitions. After which a calculation, to determine how much Discretionary funds you have available occurs.
Available ProN, calculates the amount of ProN available depending on which investments you bought:
- Yhilin Bank[116]: 200,000
- Premium Steel[117]: 100,000
- Yhilin Mine Processing: 200,000
- Special Supplier: 25,000
- Stineford Magic Shop: 25,000 or 50,000[47]
- Ardoheim Magic Trade: 50,000 or 125,000[47]
- Yhilini Supplier: 10,000
- Aramite Supplier: 15,000
- Desert Bounty Office: 5,000
- Eustrin Manufacturer: 100,000

- Eustrin Processor: 100,000
With the following 2 Mercenary investments giving a penalty
The lowest possible value is 180,000 ProN[120]
After having calculated your ProN Megail turns it into an approximate amount for the Discretionary Funds based on the total Pron available
- 100% if Available Pron ≥ 900,000

Actual investments[edit | edit source]
Megail and her agents have pulled together[125] a series of potential investments (many of which Simon has shown prior interest in). There's an investment opportunity for each of the three new nations plus representatives from the various businesses you encountered in Yhilin, Eustrin, the Elven Kingdoms, and the Incubus King's Domain. Min has her own investment opportunity, and if you achieved the SUCCUBI 1 bonus from having a low enough IKD Morale score then the succubus merchant offers the opportunity to expand Yhilini trade into the new territories. Most of the following investments are also available in the next cycle, but in most cases, they will be more expensive.

Round 6: Chapter 4 and 5: Investment smorgasbord
After chapter 3, the way investments work is closer to the Discretionary funding, with multiple cycles, a growing pool of options, and never enough money. Some investments will lower/increase their prices/profits due to the changing societal/political situations at certain points, whilst other investments may be gained/lost due to the same reason. For this reason all investments that become available after chapter 3 have been thrown together here. Expect spoilers for both Chapter 4 and 5 at the same time.
These are new types of Investment:
- HQ upgrades, investments solely focused on improving the base
- HQ decorations, they are non-profitable, cost ProN, and can have a bonus for buying them, sometimes as a single item, or emptying a shop and talking to the owner. The effects on the base stats is permanent and once the elements have been bought (and the conversations with the sellers have happened, when they are necessary). The elements DO NOT NEED to be used.
Cycles and changes in investments[edit | edit source]
Although some investment will be available at the start of chapter 4, prior to meeting with Megail (and your first return of the chapter), there is no difference in just going to Megail and picking up the investments. During this round you will receive your profits at several fixed points each starting the investment cycle they share a number with. Notes on changes in investment availability are included for each chapter.
- Cycle 0.5 - Start of chapter 4
- Several investments are already available, but you are yet to receive your first ProN return.
- Cycle 1 - After meeting up with Megail in Stineford

Round 6 Bonus Cycle: the Erosian War
Near the end of the Erosian war, the party will go to the war camp and receive 1,000,000 ProN to spend on restoring Kyangan, in addition to your remaining money. Since this money isn't yours, you just choose the best way to use it, all unused ProN is "returned" to its owners. If Kyangan was taken cleanly you will go to the city for your investments, or if it was damaged you make the decisions in the war camp instead. It should be noted that the available later symbols ▼ placed on investments below mean that the investment is available in Erosia starting in Cycle 6 (After Return to Eustrin).
If you're in Kyangan, then the total cost is 1,375,000 ProN. If you're in the war camp, then it is 1,325,000.
